North Port TOPSoccer
TOPSoccer stands for The Outreach
Program for Soccer. It is a community based training program organized by volunteers for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 4 - 19 who have a disability.
TOPS is a FREE Soccer Program.
TOPSoccer Buddies play the most important position on the team. Buddies are volunteers typically middle and high school students. (No soccer experience necessary). We are always looking for Buddies!
Buddies are paired with the athletes for one on one or group work for each session. They assist where necessary. It may be physical help and verbal support but it is always providing encouragement and FUN!
HIGH SCHOOL BUDDIES earn hours that qualify for BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIPS and IB Program C.A.S. hours.
The program usually runs for 6 weeks and we encourage the buddies to attend each week. So, we need that commitment.
The program is primarily funded by grants. Despite these funds, we continue to try to secure additional donations for the upcoming seasons. Please consider making a financial or other contribution to the program, or if you know of a local business, foundation or agency that might be able to help, please contact us. NPYS is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible.
We are always looking for families whose children might benefit from our program. The more athletes we can reach the better!!
